- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Optional Toppings

- Chocolate chips
- Chopped roasted peanuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
- Beat butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy (2–3 minutes).
- Add egg, milk, and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined—do not overmix.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes to make thicker, chewier cookies.
- Scoop 1½ tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, place on baking sheets 2 inches apart, and press with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the centers look slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
Perfectly Soft Texture: For the chewiest cookies, avoid overbaking and remove them from the oven when the centers still look slightly soft.
Chill the Dough: Refrigerating the dough for 30 minutes helps prevent spreading and creates thicker, bakery-style cookies.
Easy to Store: Keep cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months for a make-ahead treat.
