Ingredients

Scale

For the Greek Chicken Marinade

  • pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Wraps

  • 4 large pita breads
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken in a bowl or zip-top bag and coat evenly with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Tzatziki: Mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Prep the Vegetables: Wash and chop the cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion.
  5. Cook the Chicken: Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for 6–7 minutes per side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Rest and Slice: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.
  7. Warm the Pitas: Heat the pita breads on the grill or in a skillet for 1–2 minutes until soft and pliable.
  8. Assemble the Wraps: Fill each pita with lettuce, sliced chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and feta cheese.
  9. Add the Sauce: Drizzle generously with tzatziki sauce.
  10. Wrap and Serve: Fold the pitas tightly and serve immediately while fresh.

Notes

  • Marinate for maximum flavor: For the juiciest chicken, marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.
  • Prep ahead: Make the tzatziki and chop the vegetables up to 1 day in advance for quick assembly.
  • Serving tip: Warm the pita bread before filling to make wrapping easier and prevent tearing.
