Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth batter forms.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 28–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in vanilla and milk until smooth frosting forms.
